Avant Garden Copper Thank You

Handmade card created with Stampin' Up! Avant Garden and So Very Much shared by Darla Olson at inkheaven

Beautiful thank you card created with Avant Garden with copper embossing.

This swap card is so soft and pretty and yet it has a touch of bold created by the copper embossing. This gorgeous card was created by fellow demo, Mary Wesche.
Mary stamped the Avant Garden flowers on whisper white card and then covered the whisper white layer with the vellum cardstock which has the thank you sentiment embossed on the front in copper. Avant Garden and the So Very Much stamp sets used to create this card are both FREE Sale-A-bration sets! That makes it a “free” card, right?  lol!

Sending Love With The Remarkable Blog Hop Sale-A-Bration

Sending out some love from Inkheaven with the Remarkable Blog Hop Sale-A-Bration!

Hello Stampin’ Friends! When Janet invited me to join her blog hop; I have to admit, I felt a wee bit intimidated! It didn’t help that it is my first blog hop of this kind, either! I have given a lot of thought as to what I would be sharing on the hop. Obviously, I wanted my project to be pretty, but that is not what I was considering…
Janet just recently reached her 1 million dollars in sales achievement with Stampin’ Up! (Congratulations, Janet!). I have watched Janet for many years (she was a Rising Star in my early years). I have always loved her Remarkable logo and loved watching her wave her banner across the stage and send a little love back to the people who got her there. It was inspiring.
With the advent of blogging, Facebook, and You Tube arriving on the Stampin’ Up! scene, I’ve gotten to watch her a little more and have come to love her spirit of sharing anything Stampin’ Up! Her spirit of sharing is truly remARKable! So, I came to the conclusion that my post must have something a little more to share to make it special!
I decided that a card sending out a little love would be appropriate, so here it is:
Handmade card created with Sealed With Love Bundle, Stampin' Up! and downloadable tutorial shared by Darla Olson at Inkheaven

And, in the remarkable spirit of sharing, I have a tutorial for you to download so you can easily create this card and send out a little love yourself.

Special Reason Sympathy Card

Handmade sympathy card created by Darla Olson at inkheaven

Sympathy cards are one of those special reason cards that I wish didn’t exist.

I’ve had to make a few lately.

My heart breaks for my friends who are grieving and now trying to find a path in life without their partner. I can’t imagine.

All I can do is pray for them and let them know that I think of them, regularly.

The background paper that I used on my card is retired. I used the dies from my Special Reason and Dragonfly Dream Bundles and pulled a sentiment from my Rose Wonder Bundle. I like how it turned out. I sincerely hope I don’t have to create any more of these for awhile.

While the special reason for the creation of this card is not a happy one. Please enjoy the beauty of it and remember someone today with a card that lets them know you are thinking of them.

Sending Love Sweet Mailbox

Video Tutorial for The Sending Love Suite Mailbox and More with Darla Olson, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator at Inkheaven
The Sending Love Suite Makes A Sweet Mailbox!

The Sending Love Suite Makes A Sweet Mailbox! (Video Tutorial)

Hello Stampin’ Friends!
The Sending Love Suite from Stampin’ Up! was just begging to have a sweet little mailbox! I have had a this mailbox project on my Sweethearts board on Pinterest for the longest time and when I bought the Sending Love Bundle I knew I wanted to take a stab at it! I bought this bundle specifically to do fun little things like this! It’s perfect for fun little cards and sweet treat projects!
I did a FB Live Video sharing this project and several other fun little projects that you can check out here:

Just some notes regarding the mailbox project:

  • I did test out the Banner Framelits and the smallest one is perfect! I will be sharing my tips for that on my FB Live on Thursday evening, January 26th at 7 p.m.!
  • Changing the Whisper White from 3″ to 5″ for the mailbox and scoring at 1″ at each end works way better than the instructions I followed for my video!
  • I also tested my idea for gluing 2 arrows back to back – that works great as well!
Like my Facebook Page here so you don’t miss any of my stamping videos for more fun little projects like this!
If you don’t have a demonstrator, I would love to be your demonstrator and help you to create, have fun, and repeat! Purchase your Sealed With Love Bundle at www.darlaolson.stampinup.net so you can have fun creating your own sweet little mailboxes (and take advantage of Sale-A-Bration, learn more here)!

Succulent Hey, Chick With Rhinestone Choker Card

Handmade card using Succulent DSP and Hey, Chick wearing a Rhinestone Choker shared by Darla Olson at Inkheaven
Succulent Hey, Chick With Rhinestone Choker

This chick in the Hey, Chick Stampin’ Up! set just cracks me up! I love fellow demo, Melane Arnold’s rendition of it here; it’s hilarious!

Of course, it may just be my wacky sense of humor that makes it hilarious; but I just can’t help myself! My thoughts jumped on the train of:

  • Succulent
  • Stretched neck
  • Choker
Ha! Ha! Do you see where I am going with this?
I may just have to buy this background paper just so I can amuse myself going forward by duplicating this fun card! This card will be getting replicated by me a few times! I love a card that I can CASE!

Tacos, Hot Dogs, Ice Cream, and Tasty Trucks!

Handmade card created with Tasty Trucks Stampin' Up! shared by Darla Olson at Inkheaven

This tasty truck card was created by fellow demo, Nancy Endwright.

Tasty Truck is a Sale-A-Bration set that is free with any $50 order!

I love how you can switch it out to vend different things; tacos, hot dogs, and ice cream. Now that I think about it; this is actually a great set to go with Birthday Carousel. What carnival doesn’t have a Tasty Truck or two?

Double Take Love Card & Video

Handmade card created with Double Take Stampin' Up! shared by Darla Olson at inkheaven

This fun swap card was created by fellow demo, Dianne Teslak. It’s funny how some things jump out at us and others don’t. Her little note said that the stamp sets she used were; Double Take and Sending Love. Now, I knew what Sending Love was, and recognized those images right away! But, Double Take? What? I had to go look it up! Once I saw it, I remembered it! For some reason, that name just did not stick in my head at all! No matter, it is still a lovely card!

The Double Take stamp set actually does some pretty cool things; like create a 3-D effect! How cool is that? Watch the video below to see what I mean:

I really like this embossed look with the Tie Dyed stamp set that Stampin’ Up! shared in the catalog. Way cool!

I may have to add this to my wish list that seems to keep growing instead of getting smaller!

Black, Red, and Burlap

handmade card created with hey, chick in black, red, and burlap shared by darla olson at inkheaven
Black, Red, and Burlap

With chickens, you just can’t go wrong with black, red, and burlap as evidenced by this swap card created by fellow demo, Linda Pittman. This is another simple card layout, pretty similar to the one I posted HERE. The main difference is that this card has just a few more layers to add a little contrast with a pop of color.  The burlap is a nice “chicken-y” touch that ties everything back to the card base; it’s perfect!

Happy Stamper With Designer Tee

Handmade card created with Designer Tee and Custom Tee shared by Darla Olson at inkheaven
I’m a Happy Stamper!

I love this card created by fellow demo, Nancy Endwright! It’s my favorite kind of card; simple and pretty.

This card describes me this past weekend! I spent considerable amounts of time in my stamp room due to an ice storm threat. The timing of the storm kept getting pushed back so we probably could have gotten out of the house, but it’s here now! Either way, it was fun to spend a good part of my day getting things done in my stamp room. I intend to have a do-over today! Most of the businesses around here are closed. Even my hubby has a gratuitous day off today! As most of his days off from work are days off due to a migraine – we will give thanks for a migraine free, day off.

Nancy used the Stitched Shapes Framelits on her card – which are back in stock and can be ordered again! I love these Framelits and the way they coordinate with our Layering Squares, Circles, and Ovals dies! The only thing that would have made these cooler would have been a few stitched hearts! She also used Designer Tee which is a FREE Sale-A-Bration set! Purchase the Custom Tee Bundle and one of any of the other items she used and you will get this set for FREE! How awesome is that?
