Retiring Last Chance Products

Retiring Last Chance Products
Ready or not it’s retirement time!

Ready or not it’s Retirement Time! Stampin’ Up! has just released the list of retiring products and some items are on sale. Now is the time to get those items on your wish list ordered before they are long gone.  The 2020-2022 In Colors have been my favorite group of In Colors. If you need ink refills or another package of card stock in these colors, don’t delay! They will only be available while supplies last. I highlighted the retiring In Colors below.

Here are my Top 3 Tips for the Retirement List:

  1. In Colors: All 2020-2022 In Color inks, paper, and embellishments are retiring. These items usually sell out quickly so don’t forget to add ink refills and extra cardstock to your craft stash. You don’t want to miss having these gorgeous colors in your collection!
  2. Bundles: Bundles, with their 10% savings, all retire! Even if the bundle items carryover to the next catalog the discount does not – so if you have your eye on a bundle, get it now and save!
  3. Stamps vs. Accessories: Retiring stamps are available through 2 May 2022. All other retiring items, such as paper, embellishments, and dies are only available while supplies last, so you don’t want to wait and miss out.

Giving Tuesday – Make A Difference For Those With Autism

Today is Giving Tuesday!  Given that, I want to share Stampin’ Up!’s most recent opportunity to make a difference for those with Autism.

Here is a little back history for you:

Stampin’ Up! has a new Making a Difference program (some of you may remember the Ronald McDonald House stamp set program). With the new program there are opportunities for demonstrators and employees to earn grants or support for a cause. I am happy to report that one of them has been made available for you to participate in!

This year, our employee Heart of Stampin’ Up! recipient, Rett Christensen, proposed making our event theme songs available for purchase and donating the proceeds to Autism organizations. Having a son with Autism, Rett understands how important it is to support the community.

So thanks to Rett, you can own a piece of Stampin’ Up! history and support a good cause at the same time! Here is our introduction to the song at On Stage!

And here is a professional version!

Here Are The Details On How You Can Make A Difference

Dates: November 13–December 31, 2018

Two giving options:

  1. Complete Collection of Stampin’ Up! Theme Songs
    • $15.00 USD
  2. Single Love, Live & Share It Today – 30-year anniversary song
    • $5.00 USD

Stampin’ Up! will donate 100 percent of the funds raised to the following organizations:

  • Autism Speaks; Autism Speaks Canada; The National Autistic Society; Autism Europe; Autism New Zealand; Autism Spectrum (ASPECT); Japan Autism Society

There are NOT country specific prices for this offering. During the purchasing process, the amount will be automatically translated into what the current exchange rates are. Please note these are not eligible for commissions.

Fun fact: Rett was also a primary contributor in composing Love, Live & Share It Today (along with a group of other Stampin’ Up! employees).

BUY NOW AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE

I hope you will choose an option on this Giving Tuesday and help us support these charities!

Sincerely,

Moving Boxes or Boxes of Stamps?

Moving Boxes

Moving Boxes or Boxes of Stamps?

Uh, boxes of stamps, please! Moving is hard! About the time I was in the middle of re-launching inkheaven we found out that my husband, Jim was unemployed. I managed to launch inkheaven but as you can see, I have not posted much. Between staging our home, putting it on the market, getting it sold,  preparing for Holiday Catalog launches, classes, workshops, packing everything up in boxes, and moving to Colorado Springs – finding the time to post has been next to impossible! (Phew! That was a mouthful!)

Other Ways To Stay In The Know

I have managed to stay in touch and keep everyone up-to-date via email and my Facebook page though, so if you don’t want to miss out on anything be sure to like my Facebook page here and sign up for my newsletter (you can fill out the form on the right side of this page)!  If you are not familiar with our catalogs, you can learn more about the Holiday Catalog and how to get your own copy here.

More Posts Are On The Way!

I do plan on bringing you up-to-date here and sharing all the projects that I created for my Holiday Catalog Launches (I did one in Cedar Falls, Iowa and one in Le Mars, Iowa). I would love to do one here in Colorado Springs but I am still in the middle of unpacking boxes! My first catalog launch here in Colorado Springs may have to be for our upcoming 2018 Occasions Catalog! We will see how the settling in saga goes! My youngest son (who has graciously taken us into his home), is finishing the basement of his home so I will have a stamp room/guest room. It’s a work in progress…

So, while I wait, I will set up a small temporary stamping area and get back to blogging. I need to get more familiar with with the new blogging platform anyway!

Change of Address at Inkheaven!

Change of address at inkheaven

Change of Address at Inkheaven Coming Soon

I have finally decided to update my blog on a whole new level! I wanted to do this back in 2014 – and I did a slight makeover right here on blogger at that time – but it wasn’t completely what I wanted to do! Change is so many things: hard, painful, good, exciting, fun…the list of adjectives both negative and positive could go on and on!
At the time I did my slight makeover we were going through life changes so I waited to make the move as our future seemed so uncertain. Now that we are a little more settled here in Le Mars, Iowa, I feel the need to finish what I started. I hope you will be patient and stick with me!
I have finally made some decisions that allowed me to contact someone about my blog design and go forward. Hopefully, we will see it go live in a few weeks! I chose a template that I love – but it needs a few tweaks to be perfect – which will slow the process down. I may see if they will let me use the template as is until the tweaks are done! It never hurts to ask, right? It would be a little sneak preview of what is to come for inkheaven!
Anyway, I was thinking about change and life, and how life throws us curve balls every once in awhile, and I got to thinking how important it is to just swing away when those curve balls come. I’m not a huge sports fan – but I do like the game of baseball. One of the things that I like about baseball are some of the positive life comparisons that I can glean from it.  Did you know that the best hitters have the most strike outs?  When it comes to life, I want to hit it outta the park even if I have to strike out a few times. Don’t you? So here I am, taking another swing!

My purpose here at inkheaven is to create stamping happiness for you. I want it to be easy for you to create, have fun, and repeat! Doing something creative improves our well-being which is important to our happiness and I want that for you and me!

Meanwhile, I will keep everyone updated through my email. If you are not on my mailing list you can sign up for that in the side bar to so you don’t miss out! I will also try to keep the information flowing on my facebook page here. Be sure to like my page while you are there!

This pretty card was created by fellow demo, Kendra Richardson. The florals in this set are so pretty and I really like her color scheme. Her flowers are arranged in a circle which immediately made me think of a circle of happiness!

Custom Tee Birthday Boy Card

Birthday Boy Card created with Stampin' Up! Custom Tee Bundle and Urban Underground shared by Darla Olson at inkheaven

This Custom Tee Birthday Boy Card is Only One Reason to Own the Custom Tee Bundle!

This fabulous swap card created by fellow demo, Susan Barron confirmed two things for me; purchasing the Custom Tee Bundle and the awesome suite of Urban Underground products were very good choices!
I love that the Custom Tee and Nailed It Bundles are so different and unique. I have a tendency to get stuck in a floral rut!
This is a great card and I intend to make a few just like it!

Sealed With Love Stitched Shapes Framed Hearts Card

Stampin' Up! Sealed With Love, Hearts Framed by Stitched Shapes Square Framelits Card shared by Darla Olson at inkheaven

Sealed With Love, Hearts Framed by Stitched Shapes Square Framelits for Valentine’s Day

This card was also a fun card that we created in my Sealed With Love class.

This card has a little bit of recessed layering which adds a little bit of interest to it. It was still an easy card. Getting the images centered can be a little tricky. We eyeballed it in class. However, if you want nothing off center even just a bit, I recommend the stamp-a-ma-jig!

For your convenience, I have posted a list of most of the supplies I used creating this card. Clicking any of the images will take you to my 24/7 online store where you can purchase the supplies that you need to re-create this card. Sealed With Love Pierced Layered Hearts Valentine Card

Sealed with love, arrow pierced, layered sweet and sassy hearts Valentine card shared by Darla Olson at inkheaven

Sealed With Love, Arrow Pierced, Layered Sweet & Sassy Hearts Card

This was such a fun card to make! We made this card in my Sealed With Love Valentine’s Class here in Le Mars. Looks fussy, but it was pretty easy! Mostly layering, with a wee bit of stamping! I love that narrow ribbon! Due to the demand being higher than anticipated, the Love Note Framelits that are a part of this bundle are on backorder and are not anticipated to be back in the warehouse until 10 days after Valentine’s Day! I can see why! I can’t express enough just how much fun I have had playing with this great bundle!

Send A Card To A Friend Day

Handmade card created with Stampin' Up! Avant Garnden and Delicate Details shared by Darla Olson at inkheaven

Today is send a card to a friend day!

There are a lot of “silly” days or holidays created for different purposes. There are days for celebrating coffee, popcorn, loving your pets and more! Some of them are fun, and let’s face it, in today’s world, light-hearted and fun is a very welcoming thing!

However, I really like today’s designation; Send a card to a friend day. Good friends can be hard to come by and for the most part, we only have a handful in our lifetime, so I think this a great day to celebrate!

I managed to get this card done before leaving on quick road trip to help out our youngest son, so I won’t be able to send this card to all of my friends, but I do have a friend in mind.
I want to encourage you to take some time today to get a card sent off to a friend. It may just be the encouragement they need!
I had this simple design in mind, and it turned out fantastic. The embellishments of ribbon, lace, and the card jewel give its simplicity a little punch and the Clear Wink of Stella highlights and spatter give it a pretty shimmer. Seeing this in person is really the only way to truly appreciate that shimmer. My photo just does not do it justice!
I used Avant Garden and Delicate Details to create this card. Both of these sets are free Sale-A-Bration sets. Both sets are so beautiful!
Are you new here today and wondering what Sale-A-Bration is? It is Stampin’ Up!’s biggest sale of the year, with several different ways to earn free products from January 4th – March 31st, 2017. Here are the details:

Floral Love Note Card Full Of Happy Hearts

Floral love note card full of happy hearts created with Sealed With Love, Stampin' Up! shared by Darla Olson at inkheaven

Floral love note card full of happy hearts created with Sealed With Love.

This pretty swap card was created by Marcia Gay. I love how she used the Sweetheart Punch (or maybe it was a Sweet & Sassy Framelit) to cut the heart from the Sending Love Designer Series Paper. That’s perfect coordination right there!
This is a simple card layout made striking by the layers, texture and color combo.

For your convenience, I have listed most of the supplies that she used creating this card below. Avant Garden Copper Thank You

Handmade card created with Stampin' Up! Avant Garden and So Very Much shared by Darla Olson at inkheaven

Beautiful thank you card created with Avant Garden with copper embossing.

This swap card is so soft and pretty and yet it has a touch of bold created by the copper embossing. This gorgeous card was created by fellow demo, Mary Wesche.
Mary stamped the Avant Garden flowers on whisper white card and then covered the whisper white layer with the vellum cardstock which has the thank you sentiment embossed on the front in copper. Avant Garden and the So Very Much stamp sets used to create this card are both FREE Sale-A-bration sets! That makes it a “free” card, right?  lol!

Cheerful Avant Garden Sunburst Card

Special Reason Sympathy Card

Handmade sympathy card created by Darla Olson at inkheaven

Sympathy cards are one of those special reason cards that I wish didn’t exist.

I’ve had to make a few lately.

My heart breaks for my friends who are grieving and now trying to find a path in life without their partner. I can’t imagine.

All I can do is pray for them and let them know that I think of them, regularly.

The background paper that I used on my card is retired. I used the dies from my Special Reason and Dragonfly Dream Bundles and pulled a sentiment from my Rose Wonder Bundle. I like how it turned out. I sincerely hope I don’t have to create any more of these for awhile.

While the special reason for the creation of this card is not a happy one. Please enjoy the beauty of it and remember someone today with a card that lets them know you are thinking of them.

Thank you so much for stopping by to create and learn with me today.

Sealed With A Kiss Card

This fun Valentine was created by fellow demo, Jesseye Chancey-Higginbotham. I like how she added a little glam with the silver glimmer paper.
