Snow Place Like Happy Feet!

I must confess to loving snowmen and penguins! The Snow Place set and Snow Friends Framelits give me both! I love it when you can pull a few simple elements together to make a stunning, simple card! A different sentiment and color combo on this card gives you a card to warm someone’s heart anytime during the “chilly” months of the year! For your convenience I’ve placed a product list below for the items in making this fun card. Have You Noticed?

Have you noticed that there are great tips spread throughout our annual catalog and the holiday catalog? This one is pictured in the holiday catalog on page 44. This tip is to create a stencil with the Leaflets Framelit Dies (page 172 of the annual catalog) and use it to sponge paper with light ink. Then stamp over it in darker ink for a layered ink look. Many of our framelits also have a coordinating set in photopolymer that makes this very easy to do as you can see through both the clear block and the stamp for precision placement of your images! The Leaflets Framelit Dies not only coordinate with the Lighthearted Leaves set on page 44 of the of the holiday catalog; they can also be purchased as a bundle with the Vintage Leaves Stamp Set on page 88 of the annual catalog! When you purchase a bundle you save 15%! If you love Fall, nature, and being able to use your supplies for many different seasons, then these framelits and stamp sets will make all your dreams come true! Sprinkles of Life Makes Sprinkles of Fall

I received this cute card in my convention swaps as well. I absolutely love how Megan Thompson took this set and created such an adorable fall card! Sprinkles of Life is a special stamp set. With every purchase of this set, Stampin’ Up! donates $3 to Ronald McDonald House Charities. This is a very worthy cause. When our grandson was barely a month old, we found out just how important their work is. The Ronald McDonald House Charities program is near and dear to my heart! This is a fun set and sure to give you hours of pleasure while helping to provide support to families in need during a very difficult time. Fall Leaves & Butterflies Swap Card

One of my favorite things about convention is the swapping! I received this beautiful card as a convention swap. Fall is my favorite season. Warm days, crisp cool nights, cozy sweaters, blazing bonfires, and yes, you still get to see the occassional butterfly flitting around on those last few remaining warm and sunny days! This gorgeous card was created by Renee Jackson. For your convenience, I have a product list below of the items used in the creation of this card. Spider Webs & Doilies

I’m afraid that I don’t make too many Halloween cards. It’s not that I don’t like to, it’s just that usually with Fall classes one has to start early with Christmas so folks have time to get their supplies ordered and get started before the Christmas season is upon us! Plus, when it comes to Halloween I am more inclined to create cute packaging for treats and as a result I have quite a few cute halloween sets in my rather large collection of stamps. So, rather than adding more to that, I decided to just get some supplemental things this year. I fell in love with these beautiful Spider Web Doilies. They make a great accent for any Halloween card and since the back of them is white, you aren’t restricted to thinking just Halloween! There are 24 in a package and even though I used a whole doily on this particular card, it is fairly easy to cut them in half or in quarters. And, at only $4.50 I felt that it was a great little addition to my Halloween supplies! If you are wondering how I was able to get this delicate, detailed doily to stick to my card, you can check out this post about our new fine tip glue which is perfect for a project like this! I considered stamping a spider – but I decided to just make one! I used our White Perfect Accents and a black Sharpie to create the spider’s body and then used our basic black marker for the rest. Home for Christmas & Making Blue Snow Blocks!

This sixth and final card in the Home for Christmas designer series paper series was simple and fun to make. I started out using the background folder and thinking, “chimney.” But after I finished I decided that it looked more like blue blocks of snow! When I was a kid making snow forts…they were just made with plain old white snow…but now I see more and more people “paint” their snow sculptures! Back in my home town there is a guy on Kimball Ave. who builds wonderful painted snow sculptures every winter. I always looked forward to driving by to see what wonderful thing he came up with. I will miss being able to do that! Meanwhile, I will enjoy making these blue snow blocks as I won’t get either cold or wet doing it! Have Yourself a Merry Little Home for Christmas!

Part of this adorable fifth card in the Home for Christmas designer series paper series was a make & take from convention (a tag). I turned it into a full-sized card! I have some fun ideas for the Santas on this fun paper! I’m usually not a fan of fussy cutting…but since it is a background paper, I don’t get too concerned about cutting it real close and uniformly as the excess just provides a little background and a pop of color behind Santa which helps him to show up well on the card. Home for Christmas With an Adorable Reindeer

If you buy this paper for no other reason than this adorable reindeer on this fourth card in the Home for Christmas designer series paper series, I will totally understand! Who could resist these cute little creatures! This little guy is nestled away in the mistletoe; and why not? He’s cute enough to kiss! Peaceful Home for Christmas

Christmas time evokes nostalgia. It is a time when adults go down memory lane to visit their childhood. Melodious, musical tunes like, “I’ll be Home for Christmas,” by Bing Crosby fill the air as family members separated by miles make plans for a trip back home. Traditions become a gathering place that transcend time and space when they can’t make that special trip. Stampin’ Up! has done an incredible job of capturing those nostalgic feelings of Christmas past in the hand-drawn imagery in the Home for Christmas designer series paper. Whether you want to fussy cut adorable images or just have a vintage inspired background, this paper does it all! For the next few days I will be showing you cards created with this beautiful paper!

This card spurs my imagination. In my minds eye I can see the gently falling snow accumulating in the small town back in a time when the community revolved around the church. My eyes smart with tears as I imagine the wanderer coming home and looking on this peaceful scene with loving thoughts as he takes it all in, inscribing it in his heart and mind, before his excitement to be home takes over and propels him through mom and dad’s door. Take some time to enjoy it with me…

It’s Very Fine!

Fine-Tip Glue Pen 138309
Price$7.00
No more sticky messes! Reach for this when you need whisper-thin strands of glue. The slender precision tip lays down a fine line of glue—great for adhering delicately detailed paper die cuts, teensy embellishments, and bits of glitter.

This glue is awesome! Where was this stuff when the little beads were all the rage? Stampin’ Up! has created an informative video about this very fine glue.
