Well, Sale-a-bration is over, taxes are done, and I finally had some time to take photos, edit photos, and post photos! Blogger and Google spent a couple of days in cahoots plotting against me…I still don’t know how I managed to get my post to work the other day! I usually have problems with Internet Explorer so my default browser is Google. After two frustrating days of accomplishing nothing, I decided to see if I could get my photos uploaded to Blogger using Internet Explorer. Much to my amazement, it worked! While the internet gods where smiling, I uploaded every photo to a draft! lol! After all that negative energy working against me, this cheerful card makes me smile! I absolutely loved these Sale-a-bration products and I hope you were able to participte and get some of these awesome free goodies! Expressions of sympathy can be tricky, sometimes. Loss and death make all of us feel vulnerable amidst our empathy. A wave of different emotions can sweep over us based on our own experiences and beliefs. Our desire is to reach out and comfort people and express our sympathy. Sometimes we know the deceased but we do not know those who are mourning them very well. Sometimes we know those who mourn more than those who are mourned. Relationships are intimate which means many things are private. Beliefs and values may not be apparent. While we may believe the deceased is in a better place, the mourner may not share that belief. Maybe the mourner’s belief system is in turmoil as a result of their recent loss. A simple sincere line expressing your sympathy regarding their loss is always appropriate. If you knew the deceased and are comfortable sharing a memory with those that mourn, then do. Everyone likes to be remembered. Even if, for some reason, time has passed and you missed sending a note or card at the time of loss, it is never to late to offer sympathy and comfort. At the time of loss many people are there to offer their sympathy while the loss is fresh and new, but for the mourner, the loss continues. Birthdays, holidays, special occasions, etcetera bring the loss to the forefront again. It can be very comforting to know that someone has not forgotten that you are still missing your loved one.

Tip: Create New Shapes with Triangles
Paper piecing makes for a fun way to create a beautiful background. For example, take the Triangle punch (#133375) and the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper (#132995) and punch out lots of triangles in different patterns and colors. Adhere them to a piece of Whisper White card stock (#100730) that has been cut to your desired size. Cover the whole piece – letting parts of triangles hang over the edge of the card stock where needed. Trim off the excess once it is dry. Adhere to your card, add a greeting, and you’re done!

This convention swap by an unknown creator is so very pretty! (If this is your creation and you would like credit; let me know and I will update this blog post!) I love the soft color combo and masking tape technique lightly covered with a shimmer spray. Soft and elegant! The Tea Shoppe set is no longer available…however…you can get it as a digital download…which is just as good for this card!
